Lunchtimes
At Slade we have a staggered lunchtime which runs between 12pm and 1.30pm in order to ensure all children remain safely in their class bubble. EYFS and KS1 pupils have lunch between 12 and 1pm and KS2 pupils have lunch between 12.30pm and 1.30pm.
During their lunch break the children have the opportunity to play either on the field or the school playground. The children will eat either a prepared packed lunch from home or a freshly cooked warm meal from our contracted caterers, Nourish, who cook their daily menu here on site in our kitchen.
Packed Lunches
Children are welcome to bring in a healthy packed lunch from home. We are proud of being recognised as a Healthy School, therefore we encourage the packed lunch to include a brown or wholemeal breaded sandwich or wrap, a portion of fruit including tomatoes or cucumber, cheese and a yoghurt. The packed lunch should also include a drink.
We are a nut free school, so please avoid nuts of any kind for lunch or breaktime snack.
School Meals from Nourish
Nourish provide healthy choices daily, using local and seasonal produce from their menus which are updated to reflect the time of year and run on a three-week cycle. They will cater for any dietary needs or other special requirements. Nourish also hold regular special meal days and competitions with prizes donated by their in house kitchen team.
School meals are free of charge to all children who are eligible for Benefits Related Free School Meals and to all pupils who are in EYFS and KS1 (Years R - 2).
In KS2, meals cost £2.55 per day. These meals must be paid for in advance through your Arbor Parent Portal or App.
